I can’t wait to receive this cookbook. I love the Pioneer Woman’s website and have cooked many of her recipes – Delicious! Ree knows how to rock it in the kitchen! It will be great to have so many of her delicious recipes wrapped up all purty in one book.

I’m sorry people but I’m not buying it (pun intended) and I’m not trying to be mean or anything of the sort, but seriously, who would ever want to eat fattening food like this? Only in American I guess. All that butter and cream, she tries way too hard to justify by adding cutesy little comments as in: when you add two (or God forbid three sticks) of butter to one recipe, she will say “you deserve it”. Well, personally, I don’t deserve it, and I will never make any of her recipes. She is actually coercing you to eat badly, because “you are worth it”, so sure, add in that cream, toss those potatoes with extra salt, eat all that cheese, “cause it’s good for you” !

I feel sorry for her family as she writes practically four blogs a day, takes all those photo’s, I mean honestly, who has time for a family when your keeping up with four blogs? (Confessions, Photo’s, Home & Garden, Home Schooling) Oh and I forgot one – The Tasty Kitchen) So that’s five blogs she writes and/or takes care of ! Think about it. She must have the laptop velcroed to her waist. (sorry, I just don’t get it) I’m totally baffled !

I haven’t found ONE, not ONE Healthy Recipe on her site. The cholesterol levels of her family must be outrageous and only time will tell how this unhealthy eating will pay off in one way or another.

Just look at all the cooks on the Cooking Shows. 9 out of 10 of them are overweight, and here they are trying to tell you all that fat, salt, meat, butter, cream, sugar, etc is “good” for you ! Sure I could go in my kitchen right now and make the best Chocolate Cake in the world, but of course it would be the most fattening and unhealthy thing on earth to eat, but afterall, this is America! Why not try going to FitTV once in awhile and checking out all those wonderful and healthy meals sometime? You really might be surprised. There are so many delicious substitutes for these high fat, high sodium, high cholesterol meals you could be trying that are truly satisfying.

My idea of a healthy meal, is low fat, low sodium, lots of fiber, less red meat, or no red meat at all. Not something that is pretty in pictures when your hungry that you see on her site and then run to the store to get the ingredients and find yourself in the kitchen trying to duplicate something that isn’t good for you at all. I can just see it happening, because I have felt the same way too with all those gorgeous pictures of fattening and tempting food, but I have the will power to stop myself and know that kind of food would make me literally sick. People wisen up ! Are your waistlines expanding eating this food? Are you feeling sluggish? Is your blood pressure going up? Of course it is if you are following the crowd.

Personally, then again, this is MY own opinion, and this is American and I am free to say this, and that is: (forgive me) I think the one and only reason most people go to her site is because of all the free and extravagant Give-Aways. The truth hurts, I know. Seriously, would she be so popular if she wasn’t trying to buy us with the give-aways? Why on earth else would you see over 20,000 people entering these give-aways? Suck it up people, because that’s what people are doing ! Then the Give-Aways are in no way fair to begin with. Ree will choose people she likes, and the way she picks her winners are so unfair. Either you have to have children, be pregnant, or have a cutesy blog name, an excellent cook, or be a professional photographer. (Don’t believe me? Go and look back at the winners of her Give Aways and see who “she” picks to her liking). There is no such thing as “random number generator in her give aways.

Plus, please give me an example of one or more “healthy” recipes in this book, and I’ll be a different believer.

My idea of the ideal cookbook is ‘The Best of Weight Watchers’ – fantastic and tasty and most of all HEALTHY ! “Health is Wealth” !

low blood pressure, low cholesterol, and feeling great!

Let me sum up this book. The author prattles on and on about her supposedly fairy tale life. This is interspersed with mediocre recipes. So the book goes like this: 1) Look at me! I am Dee! I am so great! 2) Mediocre recipe 3) Look at me some more! 4) Less than mediocre recipe 5) Look at my horse. I have a horse. A person with a horse should be able to cook. 5) Mediocre recipe 6) Look at me! Look at me! 7) Mediocre recipe
