I bought two, for my son and daughter. I figured Polaroid would be good. First, every time they turn it on there is something that pops up on the screen that they have to get rid of. Eventually they are ready. Taking pictures is easy. But when we try to download pictures, the computer doesn’t recognize the unit. If you can’t get the pictures out of the camera it’s pretty worthless. So I got my daughter a camera phone and she can email nice photos from it. This “camera” was a big waste of money.

Bought this for my sister she was less than impressed. The overall quality is crap. It would be great for children and/or young teenagers- really not meant for adults. The quality on her iphone is better so she just uses that. She later went out and bought an HD flip and loves it for filming longer clips

This portable camcorder from Polaroid is OK for kids use but if you are a grown who demands video quality, you will be disappointed. I bought 2 of these, one green and one gray, to be given as a graduation gift for my daughter and her friend. I had the chance to tinker with this gadget a little bit to gauge its capacity. I like the fact that the USB is already attached to the camcorder itself so you do not need to fumble in find a cable when you need to download something. It can also be used with a MicroSD card for longer videos and more pictures. Beware however that on the manual, Polaroid indicates that maximum capacity of the card that you can use is only 2GB. So dont go out of the way in buying a higher capacity card, it will not work with this camcorder. Downloading video to your pc was a breeze. There is an included software where you can install in your pc to facilitate with video downloads. The overall construction quality is very low at best. This is to be expected with the kind of price you have paid for this. I dont expect it to last a long time with the way the kids are using it. Its just one of those fun-time electronics where kids use to take pictures and post video on youtube and facebook. 2-stars is the best I can give it.

This Polaroid has ZERO tolerance for low batteries. Do not plan to use other than NiMH (nickel metal hydride) batteries-below 1.3v. plus or minus a few, foggeddaboudit. The ‘roid case looks better than the Coby, but who cares? The picture is grainy compared to the Coby cam3000 which is cheaper (the coby has a smaller viewing and actual picture area, but if the picture has no quality as with the polaroid, who cares?).

The Polaroid takes 2 AA and the Coby takes 4 AAA.

The Coby has a FAR better mic, more sensitive. If you can resolve text, there’s a benchmark: the polaroid doesn’t in either video/pics.

I’d get another Coby, I’d like to return the ‘roid.

I got the Poloroid DVF-130 at an unbelievable price of $23 TOTAL (including tax and shipping) so I wasn’t expecting much. Lets just say I set my expectations just right because I was not pleasantly surprised, but neither was I disappointed. It’s really made for carrying around and shooting those unexpected moments without worrying too much about breaking it. My cell phone actually gets better video, so I’m kind of regretting the purchase but for what it is, it’s not too bad.
