I’ve bought New Balance walking shoes in the past, and they are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. When I saw New Balance made a winter boot Outdoor shoe, and it had great styling, I didn’t waste any time ordering. They are as good as Columbia and some of the more pricier brands, and with the Gore-Tex lining, it was an excellent deal. Great shoes!

I really like these boots. They are very waterproof nice treads are perfect if you have weak ankles great for backpacking and hiking they are a little bit narrow I have very wide feet and was just able to fit into them with the quadruple wide size but overall I use these boots to replace my old Dunham boots and they’re great

I have a long, narrow, low volume foot. The width and volume of these boots is great for a foot like mine. I got the B width, and it’s really great size-wise.

The boot upper needs a lot of breaking in to get it to form to your ankle area. After wearing this boot awhile, I still get discomfort from the upper. The monogusseted tongue – where it tucks in the boot around the outside of your ankle can be very uncomfortable if it does not fit with your ankle well. For me, the outer edge of the tongue presses against the front side of my ankle bone. Hopefully that will continue to break-in over time.

For me, the volume and narrowness of the boot is great. The Vibram sole is very good. It’s a relatively soft rubber, so it grips well (although that means it will wear faster).

For those who had/have the Dunham Waffle Stomper boot (no longer produced), this boot is not that good.

This boot is more substantial than fiber-type hiking boots, but less substantial than leather boots.

Ankle support is surprisingly good in this boot.

    Lacing system is ok….

The rand around the outside of the boot is excellent — especially for those who get all sorts of nicks and cuts on their leather boots around the outside and toe.

This boot does have some nice qualities. But I would encourage prospective purchasers to purchase them in a way that they can be tried on and returned if the monogusseted tongue or width does not work for you.

I’ve had other boots I’ve liked better, and I’ve had some that were not as good. This is a respectable but not fantastic boot. I hope that NB produces something similar but better in the future.

I have always been a fan of New Balance because they seem to be one of the few companies who still offer a full range of sizes including narrow widths. The MO1500 arrived on time. It was a size 14B. The boot appeared to be well made for the price. It was light weight and had a quality Vibram sole. Unfortunately I had to return it because the lacing system and the integrated tongue was unworkable. It was impossible for me to get a comfortable and snug fit with the tongue setup on this boot. When I tried to properly position the tongue, which is part of the boot on one side, and then tightened the laces, there were pressure points that caused discomfort. Maybe heavier socks would have helped.. or more break in time. However, with some reluctance I returned them because I did not think they would ever snug up around the ankles the way traditional boots do.

Bought the wider size as recommended. A good move.

    Comfortable. Handsome in appearance.

Difficult to properly lace because of puffiness of tongue and tight eyelets.

    Can get slightly cold.

    Very good value.

Not my favorite boot ever but it will certainly will do until I find a better.
