    I bought serif movie plus x because I read a review on the other popular movie editor software that this was a good and easy software for beginners.

    Guess what? I got locked out of the movie plus x , even before I tried to learn anything , let alone doing any project. Serif had locked the software with computer installation number and marketing code each time it is installed in a computer and request customers calling the company for the secret code to open it.

    I have a regular job that won’t necessarilly lets me call the company on their working hours so I emailed them for the secret code.

    Guess what? They gave me a number that doesn’t work.

    C’mon, how many people is going to buy 2 movie plus x, when you cannot even use one in your hand ?

    In the past I have ordered and returned the original version

    of this product many, many years ago. I still think that

    Serif and Serif Page Plus is the best single Windows App on my

    computer. The point is if you don’t like it I can assure you

    they will take it back and refund your money faster than a

    speeding bullet and they will still love you for trying their

    product for as long as time.

    I’ve been a Serif customer since before the days of license protection.

    Guess what ? I was really upset when I had to call in for a

    new license code. However, I picked up the phone and chatted with the

    nice folks at Serif Support. Turns out all they are looking to do

    is make some attempt to make sure the person who bought the software

    is the only person using it.

    .

    When great low cost products are stolen more than purchased the

    people who try to make a living making great low cost software

    are faced with a choice, protect the software some way or stop

    making great low cost software. So, license protection is an

    unfortunate necessity.

    .

    Try to relax.

    I’ve never had a problem installing or reinstalling Serif software

    on any of my own computers. If you are shy about calling you can

    log in to the [...] website and go to support and enter the

    code from your install and get a license code returned almost

    immediately to your EMail. I’ve never had a “wrong number”. Keep

    in mind that language difficulties and temperment might cause a

    person to misunderstand numbers on the phone. But, cut and pasted

    from the EMail Serif EMail even the most “challenged” among us

    can hardly miss. :)

    I’m going to order this product and give it another chance right now

    hoping the earlier many problems have been corrected. I am very

    confident of this after reading more than a dozen independant reviews.

    And, it’s no risk to me because I can return it within 30 days.

    Nice product. Title says it all. I am currently running it on vista 64 without any problems. My 13 year old daughter even figured out the basics in one short morning! She was able to upload video, make titles add transitions and add music to a short video in about an hour. Now she can do it in minutes! She is now starting to play with chroma key and do green screen effects. It took a little while to figure it out, but not too bad. She has to work on perfecting the effect, but the basics are done. So far we are very happy with this purchase.

    I just fired up this software to test it out and it is extremely easy to use. I have used lower quality software in the past. This was a definite step up. I threw together a quick video in like 45min while figuring out the controls. HIGHLY RECOMMEND especially for this price! Just go ahead and buy it you know you want to :P
