I’m revising my review here because I too have seen my 18 month old almost fall on her face with this trike. It’s just my personal opinion but I don’t think it’s safe. I put the trike away because I don’t need any accidents. The basic design reminds me of the old 3 wheel Honda ATVs which were taken off the market due to stability issues and people hurting themselves. Maybe when she’s bigger and more coordinated I’ll give it another try but by then she’s likely to be into a bigger bike or tricycle. The quality of construction is good, but I can’t recommend this trike.

I just bought this addorable trike yesterday at Target (for $[...]!) My 23 month old took to peddling imediately and then crashed as he turned the handlebars! The trike went srait over on its side just like that! I was willing to give it the bennefit of the doubt and popped him back on to try again…IT HAS TIPPED OVER REPEATEDLY in the short 24 hrs. that we have had it! He got on the trike by himself this morning and came running in crying and there was the trike, once agin, on it’s side! If he hadn’t been wearing a helmet on all these occasions this could have hurt his head pretty badly! I am a mom of 4 and am the laid back, not overly concerned about “boo-boos” type, but this little trike is DANGEROUS. I am going to return it to Target today and order one of the (more expensive) trike’s with a wider wheel base, preferably one with a brake bar too (like the Kettler Happy Plus Frog Tricycle).

I bought this trike at Target for $42.00 for my 18-month-old. She is a little too short to touch the peddle when her foot is fully extended. She will grow into in no time. I read other reviews saying this trike is unstable – well it is, it is a 3 wheeler, so it will tip over, especially if a baby is standing on the seat. I feel this is part of the learning experience. We rolled the trike on to the carpet in the family room and let our toddler crawl all over it, knock it over, get stuck getting on and off. Everyday she gets better at using it. I ordered the pushbar from Amazon, and though it was $23.00 it is a lovely tool, allowing us to take this trike outside for a walk, letting her get used to the trike as she grows into it. I feel this is a great value for a well made product that will have a limited life-span. Eventually she will outgrow it, and we will either get a new, larger one or we will more likely get a balance bike and move onto bike riding.

Does any one know if this trike is compatible with the Kettler push bar that is sold separately? Thanks!

All of the other reviews state that this product was $45. Be aware that the price seems to change often.
