I got this because my last case got ruined. However, something about the type of material seems to be of no interest to them. It fits my netbook fine, it’s lightweight, and I have no complaints. A few more color selections might be nice.

There are several things to like about this case: it seems well-made and durable; it zips around three of the four sides so that it will open flat, and with two pulls zips in either direction; it has elastic straps at the four corners inside to help hold a netbook in place; the bright orange inside, which a matter of taste, adds some fun to a utilitarian product.
However, there were two reason I wasn’t thrilled. First, it seems fairly big for my 9″ netbook. Although it’s supposed to fit 7″-10″ computers, logic does dictate one case couldn’t really fit snugly on a range of sizes. If yours is on the smaller end of that range it will be a loose fit, which I imagine is less protective. Secondly, compared to the sleeve we have for our other netbook, which I believe is the Case Logic PLS-9 Ultraportable Netbook Sleeve for 7-Inch to 10-Inch Netbooks (Black), Amazon’s has a lot less cushion. (Incidentally, Case Logic’s only zips on two sides, lacks the elastic straps, and would have the same size issues, so there are trade-offs.) So this is not quite the perfect netbook sleeve, but may serve you very well depending on what you need.

The AmazonBasics Netbook Sleeve is a typical Neoprene offering that you have probably seen in various stores that offer these products. However it adds a feature that doesn’t come on all of the competitors in that it is weather-resistant. I use this with my HP Mini 210 HD Edition with 250GB HD; 1GB Memory (see my review), and it fits with no issues even though it has a larger battery that keeps it from sitting flush. One of the big considerations I have with a product like this is the zipper. You’ve probably had a bag or sleeve of some sort where the zipper would catch or just generally be a pain to use. This is not the case with this sleeve. It also has elastic bands in the four corners so that you can secure the sleeve to your netbook in an “always on” manner. I am not able to make use of this because I hook up a cooling pad with fans, but some people might find this useful.
I only have one thing about this sleeve that don’t really like, but it is not a huge negative. While I love Amazon, I’m not quite to the point of wanting to sport the Amazon colors as the inside of the case is bright “Amazon Orange”. It is subtle and not intrusive on the “AmazonBasics” logo on the zipper handles, but I would have gone with either black or white for the inside color. It is certainly not the end of the world, and since I don’t use it “always on” it is not something that I see a whole lot anyway.
Overall, I would recommend the AmazonBasics Netbook Sleeve to anyone who is in the market for such a product.

Attractive enough, with corner elastic straps, presumably to hold your netbook in place, but not sure why it’s needed. Unless your netbook is the maximum size allowed by this sleeve’s dimensions, the “top” two straps won’t fit, as they’re positioned at the corners. But I’m not sure why you would want to strap it in anyway, since you’ll probably take it out of the sleeve to use it to avoid overheating. If you prefer to leave it in, just be aware of this – the “lid” side will not strap in unless it’s an inch or so taller than that of a Compaq Mini 110.
The zippers have the Amazon logo on them; they’re not completely metal, but apparently rubber on the ends you’re supposed to pull. Interesting. I suppose that decreases their scratching capability in whatever bag you’ll tote this in.
And that’s all I can say about that.

The case fits perfectly around my 10 inch Lenovo netbook, and the elastic
bands keep the case in place even when the netbook is open and in use.
The material does get warm after using the netbook for more than an
hour, but I do not think it gets any warmer than the netbook itself.
The inside of the case is bright orange, so if you have a net book
that isn’t white or black it will probably clash. Personally, I like
the orange color.
