I think Alive in Five is perfect for anyone, especially if you are a beginner. All the recipes are simple, scrumptious and really only took us about five minutes to make. I have already started to feel more confident in the kitchen.

This is a book for serious raw foodists. Most recipes require pre-somethinged something, soaked raw nuts and they’re byproducts are most often called for. I just wanted to incorporate a few interesting gourmet raw meals into our regular diet. I didn’t expect to need many dollars of unusual ingredients. And I certainly don’t want to eat so many avacados! Thought raw meant lean – some of these recipes are very high in calories. And to echo another reviewer – I don’t see anything gourmet here. This certainly wasn’t for me.

What a treasure for someone just starting to eat raw foods. Two of the soups will be

forever on my menus and the raw apple pie was a real success at a recent gathering. Easy

    directions.
