Although this is a cool book, a lot of the stuff in it is really a fun surprise, but it won’t make you an evil genius. First, if you want to be said E.G., you must be a genius, then you have to be EVIL, which is hard, unless you are a jerk, since people tend to decalre wars on you and what not, and somehow nature has figured out how to make sure that (a) if you’re a jerk then (b) you’re probably not a genius. And for the rest of us? I mean, really, who has time to think up ways to take over the world that won’t bring Homeland Security knocking at your door in the wee hours with a black canvas body-bag and an iron collar? But it’s really a fun read and some of the ideas are things I’d actually do on a rainy Saturday when football is over.

I purchased this book believing that it would be as advertised: a interesting collection of projects that you can complete with step-by-step directions, parts lists, etc. Well my fellow amazonian s, this is so very not the case. The book description is a crock (putting it mildly), and the plans that are within consist of sporadic sprinklings of diagrams or finished black and white photos of the projects which only serve to increase your frustration with this sham. Worse still, the website listed on the cover does not even make mention of the book – only chopper bicycles – so if you are hoping there is some redemption for the book there, think again! So to summarize for those contemplating this purchase:
1. THERE ARE NO STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO BUILD THE PROJECTS. Some of the earlier projects have a few pages written about the project, but as you advance through the book you find that these get sparser, and the details are woefully lacking.
2. THERE ARE NO LISTS OF MATERIALS/PARTS OR RECOMMENDED SOURCES. Zippo.
3. THERE IS NO SUPPORT ON THE LISTED WEBSITE, NOR ANY WAY OF CONTACTING THE AUTHORS FOR CLARIFICATION. This I find especially shameful, given the thrift of the project descriptions and parts list. It feels as if the author was only interested in making a quick buck only to vanish before his victims realized they had been had.
In short, save your money; I’m sure there are more capable electronic project books out there!! Hope this helps someone avoid making a disappointing purchase.

I got this for my friend’s 16 year old son and he LOVES it! He is so excited about just knowing how all these things work, even though his mother refuses to let him into a Radio Shack in case he tries to build some of it! I’ve made him promise not to use any of his evil knowledge against our family and in return, I’ll get him book 2 for his birthday! Great fun!

Not quite what I was expecting. Pretty awesome projects but for practical use, meh, some of it.
